Burcu ist Comicautorin und Illustratorin. Es zieht sie oft nach Frankreich. Für ihre Geschichten lässt sie sich vom wahren Leben inspirieren. Dabei bringt sie sozial relevante Themen auf poetische Weise auf den Punkt.

Burcu won Berliner Comic Stipendium der Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Europa Berlin and spent 6 months (November 2018- April 2019) at Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.

At the end of her residency she showed her new work in Petite Galerie of Cité Internationale des Arts Paris from 13 to 21 April 2019. Her solo showed her new book “Au même moment”.
Parisians wander through narrow and vast spaces, from train station concourses to the corridors of the metro and tiny apartments. A tourist bites into a macaroon just as someone else throws a tear gas grenade. It’s the start of a love story. Everything is happening at the same time, or is it?
During this exciting time, she created the one page comic “Wer schützt wen wovor” about the yellow vest protests in Paris for Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. It was published on February 22nd 2019.

Literaturstipendium Hessischer Literaturrat 2020
Burcu won the Literaturstipendium of Hessischer Literaturrat 2020 and spend three months in Bordeaux. She observed the food culture and drew the Marché des Capucins in the middle of the pandemic.
